Professor (Graduate School of Engineering)
Research Topics
The recent study can be specified primarily by the performance of steel structures, steel-concrete composite structures and FRP structures secure in the earthquake, while considering its durability and environmental-load-reduction. The study is also extended to develop a health monitoring system and a rehabilitation methodology of structures.

Research Topics
The major field of research is non-destructive visualization of the internal state of infrastructure. "Elastic wave", "Acoustic Emission", "Rayleigh wave", "Tomography", etc. are keywords on my research topic. In recent years, attempts to apply more durable materials such as FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) materials to infrastructure have accelerated. However, no evaluation method has been established to ensure these qualities. Developing new non-destructive quality evaluation methods for these new materials is another research topic.

Assistant Professor (Graduate School of Engineering)
Research Topics
Our main research topic is using elastic waves for non-destructive evaluation of concrete structures. Recently, we also work on applying 3D point cloud data together with quantitative evaluation of internal parts of structures. By using this technology, we aim to achieve labor-saving in the field of infrastructure maintenance.
